This illustration and animation is a response to the "I RESIST!" open call for Kaboom animation festival in collaboration with Animated Women/World & The Illustration Embassy, and was selected for their exhibition in March 2025 at Utrecht's Stadskantoor. The poster was exhibited with an AR animation interaction. Stickers were also created with a variation of the design to be distributed throughout the city and inspire resistance.
To me, the theme of resistance symbolizes a fire that can't be extinguished. No matter how close to burning out, the flame endures. To resist is to honour the flame that lights your soul on fire even when the storm is blowing it out. To fight for yourself, for justice, for freedom - even when you're too tired to go on.
